The Path of Totality

April 8th, 2024 - solar eclipse event on gin lane

Come celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime experience with us on Gin Lane from 12-4pm. Enjoy live music on the patio and lawn while you take in the view with an incredible craft cocktail in hand. We’ll also have special pop-ups from Ghazi’s Goodies with delicious Mediterranean and North African fare and the Kingdom Creamery Ice Cream Truck, plus tarot readings and more.

We’ll have complimentary eclipse viewing glasses for the first 500 people.
Join the fun for this rare astrological event on Gin Lane!

This is a free event open to the public and community. The partial eclipse begins at 2:15pm, reaching full totality at 3:29pm. And if you can’t make it for the party between 12pm and 4pm, come “apres-eclipse” with us! Bar service continues until 8pm and our retail shop will be open all evening for spirits sampling and shopping.

Please read below for day-of details:

  • We recently received a foot of snow here at the distillery and anticipate snowy or muddy lawns. Please consider your footwear carefully.
  • We suggest not bringing your dog friends. Any dogs that do come will need to remain outside at all times.
  • Bar and retail will close from 3pm to 3:45pm so our team can experience the eclipse.
  • You are welcome to bring your own folding chairs. We have two lawns where they can be placed but there may be snow or mud so consider carefully. We may also ask you to move a chair if it is blocking any egress.
  • Please do not block any entrances or exits for vehicles or you will be towed at your own expense.
  • We have multiple parking zones on site but they will certainly fill up. We suggest if you require a parking space close to the building that you arrive early. Our parking lot will open at 10:30am and our building will open at noon.
  • The Montpelier police have stated that visitors are welcome to park along the sides of the road so long as you do not block traffic - no one will be ticketed.
  • Additionally there is a lot at the intersection of Barre St and Granite St for overflow parking.
  • We have two RV parking spaces, first come first served. NO OVERNIGHT PARKING. Non-staff that are parked before 10:30am will be towed at their own expense. Any RVs taking up multiple spots will be asked to leave. If the designated RV spots are already in use, please park your RV along the side of the road.

Please note that with the unprecedented amount of people visiting the state, there is a chance we will approach fire code limits for attendance. In that instance we will need to prioritize safety and we will pause entry into the facility until the numbers are below fire code. We have the ability to accommodate a large number of guests and hope we will not have to do this. We recommend arriving early and we look forward to sharing this special event with you.
